The ancient Jewish Jarach Family
The first documents attesting the existence of a Jarach family in Italy date back to the 16th century. Everything seems to indicate that the name originates from the town of Lunel in Provence, as Jarach in Hebrew means moon. During a couple of centuries, we find Jarach family members in some of Piedmont’s small Jewish communities.
